Ashwath Ram is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tau Power Electronics Pvt. Ltd., where he is leading the development of advanced emission control systems and high-technology electronic solutions that enable sustainable mobility and support the Make in India initiative.
With over 30 years of global leadership experience across automotive and industrial sectors, Ashwath brings deep expertise in product development, manufacturing operations, and complex global supply chains. Prior to founding Tau Power, he held senior executive roles at Cummins Inc., including Vice President – Global Supply Chain (USA) and Managing Director of Cummins India and Tata Cummins. In these roles, he led large-scale operations, strengthened OEM partnerships, and drove innovation-led, profitable growth across diverse markets.
Ashwath holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Sharad Manjrekar
Chief Technical Officer
Sharad Manjrekar is the Chief Technical Officer at Tau Power Electronics, bringing over four decades of experience in power generation and industrial engine technologies. He has spent the majority of his career at Cummins, contributing across engineering, special projects, new product development, and global technical programs.
With deep expertise spanning engineering leadership, exports, and strategic sourcing, Sharad has played a key role in delivering reliable, high-performance solutions at scale. His approach emphasises technical rigor, lifecycle reliability, and innovation aligned to long-term sustainability and business growth.
Sharad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Pankaj Chaturvedi
Vice President, Business Development
Pankaj Chaturvedi is the Vice President, Business Development at Tau Power Electronics, with over 31 years of experience in the engine and automotive sector. He combines strong application engineering knowledge with deep customer and market engagement to drive growth.
His leadership spans solution engineering, customer partnerships, and market expansion, with a consistent focus on translating technical capability into customer value. Pankaj brings a pragmatic, relationship-led approach to building scalable and resilient businesses.
He holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with a DBM and MMS, from the University of Pune.
Atharva Kotwal
Vice President – Operations & Technology
Atharva Kotwal is Vice President – Operations & Technology at Tau Power Electronics, with experience across marine engineering, manufacturing, and industrial engineering environments. He began his career as a Marine Engineer and served nearly a decade on ocean-going vessels, progressing to Chief Engineer.
His background includes end-to-end responsibility for machinery operations, safety, and regulatory compliance, along with exposure to manufacturing and industrial engineering programs. Atharva also holds an Indian patent for a technology that generates water from air, reflecting his focus on operational excellence and sustainability-driven innovation.
He holds a Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency from the Government of India, a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from MANET, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
